Today, all people are recognized as equal in America. All citizens are guaranteed the right to vote, speak freely, and no one is allowed to be abused or threatened. This, of course, was caused in part by travelers and conductors on the Underground Railroad. Without the courage to defy slave owners, slavery could still exist in the United States today.
